Troup ISD School Board Calls Bond Election

During its regular meeting on Tuesday, the TISD Board of Trustees unanimously voted to call a bond election for November 5, 2025. If approved by voters, the proposal of $22,205,000 will address several critical needs, including upgrades to instructional facilities, renovations of an outdated kitchen area, new science classrooms and labs, a new career and technical education (CTE) program, and a gymnasium.  The district’s Facilities Planning Committee, which consists of community members, parents, teachers, and district leaders, presented its recommendations to the board during Tuesday's meeting. Over the past seven months, the committee has met multiple times, toured district facilities, and prioritized the identified needs. The committee focused on providing solutions for the need for additional space, increasing opportunities for students, and addressing safety concerns. Guidance from our architect and financial advisor helped the committee present the best plan for our students that our regular budget cannot accommodate.  The bond proposal includes projects at Troup Elementary and Troup High School. Renovations at Troup Elementary will feature a connected corridor linking buildings with additional classroom space and a centralized office area to serve the entire campus. Improvements to the kitchen and cafeteria are also included. Troup High School renovations include new science classrooms and lab spaces, a new CTE building with classrooms and workshop areas, and a gymnasium.
