Troup ISD Police Department Established

As a part of the district's new safety plan, the Troup ISD Police Department was recently established as a result of House Bill 3, a new school safety initiative in Texas.

At the school board meeting this week, Kyndal Brown was sworn in as the Chief of Police for the Troup ISD Police Department   She then swore in the other department officer, Josh Lowry.  Both Brown and Lowry have served as school resource officers within Troup ISD and are familiar with the operations of the school campuses, the students, and families.

Along with the district's Guardian Program, the Troup ISD Police Department will ensure the district is compliant with recent legislative guidelines.  The Troup ISD Police Department will still work in partnership with the city Police Department and Smith County Sherriff's Office.
