Superintendent's Welcome
More about Dr. Marvin Beaty Melody Allen, Superintendent's Secretary

Welcome to Troup Independent School District . It is my goal to ensure that everyone associated with Troup ISD has as their goal the achievement of 4-F's. Strange thought until you realize what the F's represent. In Troup ISD, Faith, Family, Future and Fun are serious priorities.

Our first “F”, Faith is an indispensable quality for all of our students, and employees. Many of us enjoy a faith in a Higher Being that according to our founding Fathers endows us with certain inalienable rights of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Moreover, we strive to nurture a faith in each other and ourselves that is the basis for all of our efforts.

Family is the second “F” we strive to achieve. The community is made up of a series of families. These families send us the best students they have and we in turn meld them into an extended family of Troup Tigers. Families love, nurture, and press one another to be the best they can be. Families refuse to accept a limited effort from one another and choose to confront an effort that does not represent the overall character of the family. Families do not regard their members as dispensable, therefore, success is not just “a” goal it is the only goal! Success is not meant for a select few but for everyone. If you ask if success is supposed to be achieved in the classroom, on the court, on stage, on the athletic fields or on the TAKS test, our response will be YES! We will never concede loss in any area or at any level.

Future is our third “F” at Troup ISD. The future is not a nebulous time. The future is now. We are working to plan with certainty, plot with intention and pursue with vigor a course of prosperity for all of our students and employees at Troup ISD. We will feed our dreams a healthy portion of hope, speculation and anticipation. Again, I will tell you that a successful future is not meant for a select few but for everyone. Next we will work tirelessly to achieve each and every dream. We will join hands and hearts and tear down the walls that hem in our dreams. A barrier to one person equals a barrier to one we consider a family member. These barriers must and shall fall.

Fun is our next “F” in Tiger town. Long ago, a wise individual mused that “when school is fun, students will want to come and learn.” I would like to extend that thought with the notion that school should be fun for everyone. That includes faculty, staff and administrators. When you come into any of our schools, I pray you hear laughter in the classrooms, hallways and offices. Laughter is the natural response to fun and achievement. Without celebration, work toward achievement becomes a drudgery that breeds resentment and a mediocre effort. We will celebrate with the same vigor that we utilize to achieve our goals. I want to extend an invitation to each of you to come and see us at anytime and permit us to show off our school and hospitality. Remember, there is a cup of coffee and a smile waiting for each of you at Troup ISD.

With Warm Regards,
Dr. Marvin Beaty
