Study Island

Troup ISD Log In Instructions for Study Island:

Our district now has access to a great resource for assisting our students in reviewing concepts learned in Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, Language Arts and for preparing for the TAKS test. We are piloting a web-based program called Study Island, which is accessible to students from vitually any computer. Your child can access Study Island from home, the public library, or from school if you have Internet access.

The program is divided into sections based on subject (math, science, social studies, and language arts). Each section is made up of 10 or 25 topics. Each topic contains 20-25 questions with explanations. All topics are accompanied by a lesson, which includes some brief information about the material covered by the questions in the topics.

  1. Go to Study Island (www.studyisland.com)
  2. Enter your username and password and click "Login." Your username is your firstname.lastname@troup. Your password is your student ID number. For example: If my name is Sadie Brooks my username would be sadie.brooks@troup and my pasword would be my four digit studetn ID number 9999.
  3. Click on the section tab that you wish to work on click the "Pretest" in order to begin. You must complete 10 pretest questions before moving on to the topic in the section.

To "pass" a topic, you must meet the topic's passing requirements which are based on a minimum number of questions answered. A blue ribbon icon will be displayed next to all passed topics. If you do not pass a topic on the first try, a red triangle will appear next to that topic. You may access a lesson or try the test again.

You may choose "game mode" instead of "test mode" for almost any topic after you have taken the pretest.

We are excited about the potential benefits this program can bring to our students and we encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity by using Study Island. Please contact Study Island at 800-419-3191 or support@studyisland.com if you have any questions about accessing the program at home.
