Troup ISD Child Care Center is a state licensed childcare program for children ages 6 weeks through Pre-Kindergarten.

The Child Care Center is located at the Troup First Baptist Church, 935 SH 135 South. Hours are 7:00 a.m. until 5:45 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Troup ISD Child Care Center opened for operation on August 1, 2005, and operates year round.

Registration fee is $50. The weekly rate is $105 for infants, 6 weeks to 24 months; $100 for children in the 2 Year Old class; and $95 for children in the Pre-K Three and Pre-K Four classes.

Troup ISD Elementary Cafeteria provides breakfast, lunch and a snack daily for children who would opt to participate in this service. The cost for meals (breakfast, lunch and a snack) is $3.00 a day. Children who do not opt for school meals must bring their own breakfast, lunch and snack to school daily.

Our goal is to provide quality childcare. Our infant classes, ages 6 weeks to 11 months has a class ratio of 4 children to 1 adult and our Toddler Class, ages 12 months through 15 months has a 1 adult to 5 children ratio, and 17 through 23 months has a 1 adult to 7 children ratio. The Preschool classes, ages 2 through 4 are limited to 9 children to 1 adult. These very small classes, due to the limited number of children per adult, provide an optimum learning environment for the children.

Activities are planned to help develop the whole child: socially, emotionally, physically and mentally. The children have fun and learn in a safe environment.

Daily activities include meals, outside play time, free choice learning centers, small group time, circle time, as well as many other fun and educational activities.

Our infant through Three's program follows an educational curriculum that was developed by the Smith County Champions for Children and incorporates Brain Gym. For more information about this curriculum, please go to the Champions for Children web site. The Pre-K class follows the same curriculum as the Troup ISD Elementary Pre-K and Head Start classes.

In case of illness or accident, Troup ISD Child Care Center has access to the Troup ISD School Nurse. The Nurse will also give hearing and vision test to children 4 years of age.

Our staff is CPR certified and has been trained in basic first aid. The staff receives fifteen hours of childcare training each year as required by the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services.

Troup ISD Child Care Center accepts Child Care Services (CCS) clients. Click on the CCS tab for more information concerning Child Care Services and how they can help you provide care for your child.
